I think I rode something quite similar to that contraption in Sandusky, Ohio. Brief, and it nearly ripped my glasses off my face, but this video brings some good memories.

I rode that (out of season)
3 times in 30 minutes last year.Sometimes it doesn't generate enough speed to clear the top and rolls backwards to the start.
