I seem to remember being told in historyy at school
that during the period of revolutionary unrest in Europe, a big anti-monarchy type rally was arranged in one of the parks. It was taken seriously enough for the King/Queen to be shipped of to somewhere like Balmoral.
Hardly anyone turned up though, because it was a bit 'drizzly'.
