Looks to me more like one of those Maglite torches that is basically a club. Couldn't be sure of that, though.
Pretty impressed with how fast he managed to get through the glass, all things considered. If he'd been a bit more resourceful and picked up a chair or rope-stand-pole-thing, and not swapped windows, he might have been able to get away with it. Still, six minutes is not long for a police response time.
