its probably a numbers thing
no doubt they know how absurd it is, but do it because they get more attention and hits on facebook. A necessary evil to spread awareness. Or perhaps the idea of using the machinery of control against itself appeals. I'd be surprised if they gave detailed personal info on that site
also the timing of the deletions seem to coincide with the other heavy handed crackdowns and pre emptive arrests around the royal wedding
