The first movie was essentially a conspiracy nut film and falls apart because of it. The 2nd and 3rd are very clever though, and move on to systemic issues and broader anti-capitalist theory and current scientific knowledge. 'Addendum' and 'Moving Forward' are well worth watching with an open mind.
My review of movie 3 (the one linked to above): wp.me/p1hrvf-1k
The problem with the Zeitgeist Movement (and I know this because I attended one of their lectures and briefly used their forum) is that they are overburdened with conspiracy nuts each trying to push their own zany theories into the next movie. A lot of their followers seem to miss the point of the decent films (i.e. systemic problems in a quasi-Marxist sense, not a pseudo-masonic conspiracy).
That said, I applaud Joseph's effort. At least SOMEONE is trying to come up with a contemporary populist ideology, that isn't some kind of disgusting fascist bigotry like the BNP or a horrific medieval throwback form of theology like Islamism, to combat the zombie 'end-of-history' state of neoliberalism we live in today.
