The Credit Crunch
Did you score a bargain in Woolworths?
Meet someone nice in the queue to withdraw your 10p from Northern Rock?
Get made redundant from the job you hated enough to spend all day on b3ta?
How has the credit crunch affected you?

one thing I'm worried about
that I haven't seen covered in the media:
it seems like these would be good times for Amway and similar scams.

Ah spamway
"Nooo...this isn't a pyramid scheme. Pyramid schemes use money. WE use points. That you can convert to...errr....money. But we're really not a pyramid scheme."
Had a mate who got caught up in this crap for several months. The brainwashing tactics they employed would have made the third reich proud. Even today (although he's well out of it) he still believes that the reason he wasn't successful was because he was a failure, not because of the fact it was a scam.

I think Amway attracts people
who
a) think 'the system' works, but
b) think they can't make it work for them,
so they're predisposed to blame themselves when they inevitably lose their money.
