Lies Your Parents Told YouI once overheard a neighbour use the phrase "nig nog". I asked my father what it meant. As quick as a flash he said, "It's a type of biscuit. A bit like a hobnob." Can you beat this? BTW: We're keeping this thread open for an extra week as we're enjoying the stories so much.

Shut up!!!My Dad who's an electrical engineer used to threaten me when I was little, that if I didn’t shut up he'd install a swtich on the side of my head so that he could switch me off and I wouldn’t be able to talk until he turned it on again. It actually worked until I was about 6 or so!
