A chum's Father-In-Law (an accountant by profession) actually fell for one of those 'Hallo, I'm calling from Microsoft' chaps recently...He did what the chap told him to do, downloading a remote control app from some random .biz website. Then the accountant gave the chap his bank details. Then the chap let the cat out of the bag by logging onto the Western Union website and attempting to take several hundred pounds whilst the accountant was still watching.
