I always thought that about Fred Phelps, that Westboro Baptist Church nutter...The only reason someone would be THAT hateful to gays is that secretly he knew he was one, but couldn't accept it.
I wonder how many of his churchmembers had the same suspicion?

He doth protest too much?I'd say at a guess that where there's smoke there's fire - if he wasn't gay it won't surprise me if a lot of the kids that grew up in the church come out claiming abuse etc. I vaguely remember the daughter of his son (I think?) suggesting it on the second America's Most Hated Family Louis Theroux show.
