Political Correctness Gone Mad

The client was happy with the work, then a note came back that the ethnic mix of the characters were wrong. These were cartoon characters. They weren't meant to be ethnically anything, but we were forced to make one of them brown, at the cost of about 10k to the charity. This is how your donations are spent. Wisely as you can see."

But the children!
But the children named it, right? Were they too young to realize this was a major no-no? And why did it take 5 weeks for a complaint to be made if this is sooooo terrible? I smell a parent who wants to make trouble.
OTOH, I'm not blaming her, but she does live there, I would imagine she would know how scalding an insult it would be to name a toy after the Prophet, peace be upon him. Or whatever.
