This is a question Rubbish Towns

I once went to Basildon. It was closed, I got chased by a bunch of knuckle-dragged yobs until I was lost in a maze of concrete alleyways and got food poisoning off pie. Tell us about the awful places you've visited or have your home.

Thanks to SpankyHanky for the suggestion

Crewe!
I was one of those poor unfortunate fools who got a place at Manchester Met Uni a few years ago and ended up at the Crewe/Alsager campus. Jesus christ, what a depressive hellhole?!

Some lass tried slitting her wrists in the first 6 months, and failed. Twice. The place is that bad she failed at failing. It's where everyone who lives and works in Manchester and Liverpool goes to retire and die.

Terrible place!

It wasn't just me then
You have both my sympathy and empathy, I too attended the dual centre nightmare of ultra feminist, mature student heavy, piss poor SU facilities that was Crewe and Alsager...at least you were in Crewe...you had proper shops and trains as far as the student loan could take you.

Nooo, it was much worse.
I lived in Crewe but all my classes were in Alsager, so I had to get the crazy bus all the way - every morning!

You should've read the prospectus first!
I've met quite a few people who thought getting a place at MMU meant living in Manchester and didn't cotton on to the 'MMU Cheshire' bit.

Still, at least the new halls at Crewe are up to scratch. The old ones were horrendous slums.

Heh, yeah...
I think I just wanted to move out of Grimsby. Oh well - I was the last person to live in room 21, Valentine hall before they bulldozed it. Apparently Vernon Kay lived in the room below me a few years previously. Wish they'd bulldozed it then. While he was asleep.
