Rubbish Towns
I once went to Basildon. It was closed, I got chased by a bunch of knuckle-dragged yobs until I was lost in a maze of concrete alleyways and got food poisoning off pie. Tell us about the awful places you've visited or have your home.
Thanks to SpankyHanky for the suggestion

Nostalgia in Bracknell
Looking at soul-less new houses and thinking: "I can remember when this was all discarded shopping trollies..."

I went back in 2007
Shortly before I moved out of the UK. Its a lot better than between '98-'03 which seemed to be the worst years for just about every bad thing that could happen to you, at least during my lifetime anyway.

I've visited occasionally for various reasons since I left in 2004.
What baffles me about the place is that there's no real *reason* for the rubbishness of the place: it was initially well funded, with plenty of jobs. even now, people tend not to be that badly off.
Road Wars tends to have a few scenes in Bracknell - the main impression is not that the incident is bad or that the criminal is "'ard", merely very very stupid, even compared to the other places they patrol.
