but they tried to kick out anything I felt to be important. Parents put me in a more liberal school and I excelled.

Uni reminded me of a factory production line. Did well in the first year - top marks. Disliked the politics. Won a scholarship to a small, elite college, top marks.

Combination of pig-headedness and patience.

If production lines were run like houses of education, nothing would ever get made.
