» It was a great holiday, but...

Best holiday in the world ever!
3 years ago on my stag night...

In Copenhagen, dancing in an irish bar to a live band, playing songs by The Pogues and other bands such as Survivor (god knows how they managed to go from Irish Rover to Eye of the Tiger withought missing a beat!) surrounded by danish women, all my friends are there and we are steaming drunk, we sang till we went hoarse...

Then off to a club, covered in sweat and beer, we all dance (badly) till 6 in the morning....

We leave the club, and it's light outside....

Do you know how much of a mindf*ck it is to come out of a nightclub into daylight? it's like 'who turned on the fooking lights?'

But we al piled into a taxi, and then home to bed....

Best bits.

1. All my mates there, it had been quite a few years since we had all been together.
2. The danish women!
3. The danish beer.
4. No bloody hangover!

Magic, i'll never forget it ever.

Sorry for length but I dont care!

Phat (sweaty and covered in beer) Dave

» The last thing that made me cry

Only got half way through it....
My dog was put to sleep last year, I arranged to have her cremated, ringing the vets to ask for this was one of the hardest things I have ever done....

Anyway a few months later me and the wife are on holiday in Scotland, we buy a few books each. I pick up a copy of 'The Lovely Bones' all is going well until about halfway throught he book when the girls dog shows up...

Anyone who has read the books will know what I mean....took me ages to stop crying but I still miss that dog, i'd have her cloned in a heartbeat.

Nice Chaps
I work with John Otway's brother in law (a chap lovingly referred to as El-Presidente) he's a very nice chap (i'm on about El-President not John Otway, not that John Otway isnt a nice chap either)

I've also served The Levellers pints of Guinness in a pub I used to work in! Now if someone hadnt have told me who they were I would never have known! such nice normal chaps they were.

And my cousing wrote a book about Jack The Ripper.

Impressed eh? no, thought not.

» Pure Ignorance

In a very nice restaurant in Philadelphia...
I was staying in a very nice hotel in Philadelphia (circa 1996), went down for lunch and ordered myself a chicken korma, pilau rice and a keema naan (nothing to do with the story, just reminiscing about how good it was!)....

In walked some sweaty trucker (dirty red cap, checkered shirt, dirty jeans and a bodywarmer) the size of a barn, he walks up to the bar and orders 'a brewski', his words not mine...

Waiter brings over my food, we exchange small talk, next thing I know the sweaty trucker has sat himself down opposite me, he then asks me...

ST: Hey Buddy, you from the UK?
ME: Yeah
ST: So what do you think of the IRA?

I lose my appetite, and he was on about the Irish Republican Army not the IRA they have over there!

Twat!
