Unrequited love
The only thing I really recall is a picture of a friend who showed me great kindness (like actually speaking to me and getting to know me).
I loved her so.
I knew she would never feel that way about me and in the end I accepted that.
She moved to Spain after several years (being half Spanish) where she was happier. After a year or so she was killed in a car accident.
She chokes me up to think of her now. I used to have terrible dreams where I could see her but she never saw me.
Then I had a dream where she did at last see me and talk to me. That did help. I don't dream of her anymore which if I admit is probably the best for me.

» This book changed my life
Bit of a cliché maybe
When I was a sixteen or so I read "1984" followed by "A Brave New World". These two books shaped my thinking and informed my world view to this day.
To me religion is just someone being told something so many times they end up believing it and then repeating to themselves "I'm so glad I'm an Alpha / Beta / Delta / Epsilon / Gamma".
If you want to understand the nature of control read these books.

Thou shall not steal
Grandparents of my nieces and parents of my sister-in-law.
Round their house one day. "Where's your wife and her mother?" I say to my brother.
"Church" he replies.
I cast my eye over the kitchen and it casts upon and packet of fags (with the warning in Spanish) and a DVD (for the kids you understand) of a movie that’s just out in the cinema.
"Untaxed smuggled ciggies and a bit torrented movie. Nice work."

Plenty of things
Although I am a fairly placid person the following will have my blood pressure rising.
People who don't read error messages. Yes sometimes the message has no useful information but sometimes it will actually tell you what you need to know to fix the problem.
My inability to stop drinking completely.
4x4 drivers. Been done to death already but they really do just fuck me right off. Unless you are a farmer who needs to drive over fields you have no excuse.
They are the car equivalent of giving everyone the finger. "I'm alright but fuck you Mr Pedestrian, Mr Cyclist, Mr Motorcyclist and Mr Regular car driver. In the event of an accident myself and the vile spawn I have brought into this world will be fine. You however will be very dead or maimed. Awfully sorry about that!”
People standing on the left hand side of the escalator in the Underground.
People who wear their trousers low to show off their boxers. What the hell is all that about? You look like a fucking idiot who can’t even dress himself.
The governments head in sand approach to power. Just build the damn nuclear stations and as many offshore wind farms / tidal power systems as you can. It’s not like we have a choice and its stops us being the Russians / Saudis bitch.
Drugs. Just legalise the lot. Otherwise you just run a job creation scheme for criminals.
Suppose that will do for now…
This post may have spelling and grammatical errors in it, but frankly I don't care.

» Thrown away: The stuff you loved and lost.
Nothing
I have lost stuff over the years.
Motorbike nicked from the side of the road after an accident, transformers, teddy called "Pip", PC destroyed and thrown out by upset ex but nothing that has made me go more than, "oh well. I'll be dead some day and it won't matter."
Although I am not a fatalist I cannot think that anything that occurs on this small speck of dirt in the void matters one little bit (in the scale of things).
