» B3TA fixes the world
On a (non)religious theme.....Militant Athiests
You know who you are. I see you marching proudly round the world and even B3TA, chest all puffed up, smug, self satisfied look on your face. All those scientific facts, all those Dawkins books on your shelves and you just can't help yourself can you. Far worse than those Jehovah types. At least I can hide behind the sofa when they knock but not you. Oh no. You are the enemy within....the friend or aquaintence ready to pounce and go on ad neuseum about all the "stupid" people, those billions who cling to outmoded faith, why can't they see the truth.
To be really honest I don't care. I just want to get on with my life and try my best to be happy and make others happy. I don't care what you believe as long as you don't keep trying to force your views down my throat or try to blow me up or try to get me to read something I don't want to, whether thats the latest WatchTower or the latest bandwagon book about how the fossil record proves it all.
So here's the deal. Unless I SPECIFICALLY ask you to explain your beliefs (or non-beliefs) you will keep your topics of conversation to sex, sport, people we both know, family and maybe, just maybe politics. As long as you don't ask me to read Mein Kampf or anything by Marx.

Anything made by ALBA
I started with a dual tape machine with built in radio and detachable speakers. The brackets on the speakers broke so they wouldn't attach properly to the main body so I couldn't carry it around any more. One of the tape deck broke so I could never do "high speed" dubbing. This was actually rather good as when I had managed to do "high speed" dubbing one of the tape decks was slightly out of time so everything sounded just a little bit speeded up. No pirating of mates tapes for me.
Then the radio failed and produced nothing but static unless I was within 30 feet of a transmitter or the programme was in Spanish or Arabic. All this within 6 months of buying the thing.
I then stupidly bought a walkman by ALBA that ate all my slightly speeded up pirated tapes. But hey, at least they were cheap!

Ban Brompton or any other "collapsable" bike on all trains into London
The train is fecking packed but your tossing bike takes up the room of one person and digs into my legs. There are Boris bikes outside every mainline station, so use them.
You knob headed, lycra wearing, bag of spew.

Detours
One of my Nans was not so much rascist as shit scared of anyone "of colour". So much so that as shops on the highstreet were taken over by anyone who wasn't white she would not pass their shops and detour via another street. This wouldn't have been too bad but she lived in Peckham and eventually the detour added about 30 minutes onto a journey with her home from the train station, weaving down back streets. I never asked or mentioned the fact that the houses we walked past must have black or Asian families living in them. The poor old dear would never have left her house.

Time to forget how shit it is being all alone....
Yes very sad state of affairs that I won't go into now.
But..... my new work wanted to send me to Hong Kong for a couple of weeks and having only ever gone as a cheap as chips contractor in the past started to look for cheap flights and hotels. But lovely work asked what the fuck I was doing and put on a Cathay flight business class there and back and put me up in the Shangri La hotel. I then find that the woman I am working for in HK is rich and likes me and takes me to the members enclosure at Happy Valley race course, others in the office take me out drinking and eating and shopping. IT was a real work hard/play hard environment...all efforts appreciated and rewarded. It was wonderful and for two weeks I could forget everything else.
