I use PS3 media server software on the PC
to stream HD files across the house network to the PS3 for full HD glory.

me, i'm using an old power mac as a media pc. it rocks except that it's loud, slow and probably burns ten times as much leccy as a boxee would.
edit: good lord, what happened to my post? i was espousing the pleasures of just having a computer connected to the telly - your laptop if there isn't an old one to connect up permanently. works a charm.
