# I just know this week will get everybody riled up.
Religion isn't even something I think about, because I KNOW there's much more wondrous and beautiful stuff around us at all times; it's called science, and the sooner people look for the things that are already here, rather than wait for a big fake man to appear, the better.

Fuck yeah, science.

I once met someone with "SCIENCE!" tattooed on their leg, that's how much they love it.

I'll probably end up having a Carl Sagan quote on me somewhere, most likely "On a mote of dust, suspended in a sunbeam", referring to the Pale Blue Dot image.

# that quote always reminds me of horton hears a who
and it's my love of chemistry and toxicology that led to my biohazard tattoo :)

# Ahh, love that book. ^^ Microbiology for kids!
There's a number of tattoos I'd like, but it's all a case of how much, where on my body, etc.

One such tattoo is the caffeine molecular structure... being a caffeine addict and all. :D

# nice!
don't know why, but i think that'd look good on the inner wrist

# Yeah, not bad placement.
Just a case of the whole tattoos and employment argument. I mean, if I could have tattoos anywhere on my body and still get a job, I'd be laughing. I think the inner wrist could easily be concealed though. :)

# or just get it done where i got mine ;)

# Do I... need to know where that is? XD

# probably not :D

# I think we are going through the age of enlightenment 2.0
And this time it's gonna kick ass because a kid in africa or Iran will have a portable device in his hand that he will be able to question any bullshit that he is told, a non belief in God is the fastest growing belief system. woo yeah go internets!

# Exactly.
The only reason religion caught on is because our ancestors didn't know a fraction of what we know now, thanks to our extensive testing and research, and like you say, the way our world has become much more interconnected through the web.

It's when people decide to take a step out of their bubbles and examine the universe for what it is, and not what an ancient book told them, that the world will become a much more wonderful place.

# I give religion as we know it 5 years
i even think the pope is an athiest, if he truly believed in "God" he would be supporting the large hadron collider instead of condemning it as if what he said is true it will reveal old beardy chops on the cloud did it all....
(, Thu 17 May 2012, 13:07, archived)
# Yeah. If I'm honest, I'm surprised it's still going.
It's really disheartening to know there's whole groups of people out there, ready to disregard actual, physical tests being done by the world's greatest minds. The fellas at the LHC, and indeed, every physicist, chemist and biologist, deserve so much more than that.

# If this was or is a war between Science and Religion..
I am confident that i know who will win. peer reviewed and constantly changing based on evidence against an old book with power hungry apologists contradicting themselves daily, oh and they rape children.
(, Thu 17 May 2012, 13:28, archived)
# It's rather amusing
that scientists will never jump to conclusions without thorough testing and examination, whereas the religious lot just accept what a book written hundreds of years ago said.

And yeah, the whole paedo thing is a no no, too.

# SCIENCE!
(, Thu 17 May 2012, 12:56, archived)
# I think you'll find...
...it's a big fake man with a beard.

Burn the heretic!

# Its not Science, its Nature.
Science is just the system we use to examine and appreciate the beauty and wonder of the universe around us.

Woo NATURE!
(, Thu 17 May 2012, 13:00, archived)
# Actually, yeah, that. ^
I suppose you could class it as 'science and nature', but I'm splitting hairs here. XD

# Nature is just weeds and that
and bird poo
