He was a genuine guy who gave my mates band The Family Cat a break on the peel sessions coz they played him a demo on the ferry coming back from Ireland. Sadly Missed. Nice work too by the way.

about this bloke like he was some kind of god?

Some of the shit I heard him playing not so long ago..... oh my god!

Perhaps now these new crap bands wont get the recognition they don't deserve.

# tsk.
go back to listening to westlife cuntybaws. He may have played some shit but at least he played it.

# you imbecile
what kinda crap do you listen to? if you you listen anything other than mass produced boy/girl band written in a boardroom ramilton he would of given the artist their first air on radio. if you like anything from hardhouse to bolivian pan pipe music he would of played it if its anygood, the greatest dj ever just because he played what he wanted to. his whole ethos was that your not going to like everything but just give it a go and make your own mind up. now go and listen to some more robbie williams and shut your illeducated arsehole. thankyou.

RIP Sir John Peel OBE a true music lover and thoroughly nice guy.
