Today I will mostly be formatting a 400-page instruction manual. For injection moulding machines. In Hungarian. In Word 2000.

# You could be watching The Dark Knight or Hellboy II on joox
both of which are rather good :)
(, Sun 20 Jul 2008, 10:53, archived)
# i need to see both :)
i can't wait for Dark Knight :)

# having had insomnia most of the night
I got up at 4 and was bored. Found a very watchable version of TDK on Joox.
It's like a cross between 'Heat' and 'Die Hard 3'. Also, Ledger's Joker really does live up to the hype :) Gary oldman shines quite a bit as well.
Shall certainly be enjoying it 'properly' in the cinema next week

# i never doubted him for a second :)
i'm going to wait for the cinema to see it, its something i've waited so long for i want to see it on the biggest screen possible

# I finally
watched Hellboy 2 at about 3am this morning. It was ok for what it is. I don't know much about the Hellboyculture but who'd have guessed there were elves in generic US metropolis' and goblin's in Northern Ireland who talk like Yanks trying to do a bad Cork accent?

I may watch the Dark Knight tonight.
(, Sun 20 Jul 2008, 11:00, archived)
# Hellboy II was pretty much same as the first one.
good, enjoyable popcorn fodder. Like you, I am not a huge 'fanboy' of said comics, novels etcs, but it was good enough to pass a couple of hours.

It's like all the hype about next year's 'Watchmen' film. I don't get it, and personally believe (having read the synopsis of the plot via wikipedia, as I've not read it myself) it may well bomb due to US viewer apathy to the subject matter and plot. It may end up being a great movie, but possibly not successful.
(, Sun 20 Jul 2008, 11:05, archived)
# I don't know anything about watchmen
other than I have seen the trailer and it looks generic Marvel/comicbook fodder which I shall most likely watch. I have all the comics in PDF on my PC but have only looked at 2 pages.

I don't get the fuss about Batman either. It started out silly and got worse, then decided to become all moody and serious ending up with an identity more confused than James Bond.
(, Sun 20 Jul 2008, 11:08, archived)
# there is one 'little' bugbear I have about The Dark Knight
Bale does insist on over-using the 'gruff' voice. It's quite distracting in places.

Still, you'll enjoy it I'm sure
(, Sun 20 Jul 2008, 11:11, archived)
# I'm sure I will.
can't beat Batman with a lisp. Right I'm off. 30 mins to get to Oulton Park.

# they better not fuck that up

# omg i hadn't even realised there was a film
however, wikipedia has just informed me that it is from the director of 300
this does not bode well
(, Sun 20 Jul 2008, 11:54, archived)
# I thought 300 was a great adaptation of the novel
(, Sun 20 Jul 2008, 11:59, archived)
# i haven't read it
but i just thought the film was a load of macho shouting and not much else
(, Sun 20 Jul 2008, 12:03, archived)

I suggest you get out more*

*take a holiday to Greece!

# 24% is maths!
(, Sun 20 Jul 2008, 11:42, archived)
# precisely :p
and as for taking a holiday to greece, that's what i did!
nah, i did realise they're greek letters, it was just weird seeing all this stuff i've only ever used in physics and maths on road signs etc

i also learned that old women selling roses are pickpockets, "supermarket" actually means "corner shop" and "sex on the beach" means "mainly orange juice"
(, Sun 20 Jul 2008, 11:52, archived)
# :)
I also know the term: "ehhhhhhh Malaka!!"

That's the extent of my Greek...
(, Sun 20 Jul 2008, 12:01, archived)
# i didn't learn any :(
i spent much of the time trying to work out what the accent is and failing
some people sounded italian and others sounded like Borat
and i was in a clubbing sort of area so most people were english anyway
(, Sun 20 Jul 2008, 12:05, archived)
# ah well er next time you meet a nice big greek man,
say 'eeeehhhhhh malaka!' It means 'hi mate!'*

*this statement may contain factual errors k3b/-\b accepts no responsibility for the offence the greek person may take in response to the aforementioned phrase

# ha
just wiki'd it, maybe not...
although i can think of a few people i could have used it on
