But in any event, whenever a company tells you they have a special propriety secret way of doing something you thought impossible:

Actually, that article doesn't dispute the what, merely the how
They're still saying that the data was collected, analysed and used in very shady ways (e.g. voter suppression through "dark posts").
All that article says is that other organisations could have supplied the data, which is akin to complaining about the label on the bottle and not the contents.

But 'data' isn't magic.
It. Is. All. Bollocks.
He didn't win because the vote was suppressed. He didn't win because he knew more than Hilary (who was using exactly the same big data snake oil salesmen). He didn't win because a few shady billionaires were backing him (Hilary had plenty too).
His campaign had the square root of fuck all to do with analysing trends.
This is Alex Jones stuff.

Ironic that this new cabal of anti-globalists have no problem trying to create a globalized political "movement."
One might think all this bemoaning of "our sovereignty" is a red herring.

It's almost impossible not to leave a digital fingerprint these days.
The best you can do is pollute it rendering it useless.
Change usernames, visit random sites, share amazon and ebay accounts with family.
Do not use a store card, it's primary purpose is for the store to create a profile of you to target more crap."nectar points" are worth fuck all.
VPN's and "private browsing" are not just for porn.
Not perfect but if you're up to something that would necessitate bypassing those measures then you've got bigger problems.
