This is a link post Homeopathic vacuum
I'm not making this up. Scoshi's link below reminded me about this - a few weeks ago I was clearing my sister's house and found a bottle of "Vacuum tablets", and at some point I also found a letter from a "doctor" saying she was treating herself with them.
The reason I was clearing her house out? She'd topped herself.
If you want to treat your headache with non-medicines and it works for you (which it no doubt does for some) that's fine, but serious psychological conditions? Someone should be in prison.

This is a normal post I'm in a rage on your behalf
I would want to punch the "doctor" through the road

This is a normal post Any medical treatise that in its third paragraph
cites the film Avatar as evidence for the argument is genius. More homeopathy on the NHS now! Make this guy minister for health now!

I'm sorry about your sister.

That's just heartbreaking for so many reasons.

There's a point where stupidity crosses over into pure wickedness.

at least it's free!
Does anybody want some Vacuum 4?

edit: blimey, that was insensitive - read the link and not the post. Apologies.

Gallows humour has helped immensely. For the record the stuff I found is 10M potency which as far as I can tell means the 'vacuum solution' has been diluted 1:1E20,000. Powerful stuff indeed!
It would be one thing if it was all free but vulnerable people are being scammed.

This is a normal post Sorry to read why you were clearing the house.
That must've been awful.

I complained to a homeopathic clinic once when their literature was placed in my kid's school bag by one of their hippies. They claimed they could cure asthma. ASA made them withdraw it and it seems the Charities Commission had something to say once I'd goaded them sufficiently. However their high priest was given my phone number and called making abusive threats. Luckily they were too dilute to have any effect. Why do people believe this sort of crap? And why is the law on promoting fake cures not enforced?

This is a normal post You could have met the guy and spat in his face...
...then told him to dilute it 10^30 times so as to cure himself of the impressions left by your fist.

This is a normal post Is st John's wort homeopathic?
That's been recommended by an actual doctor, I thought that was OK?

This is a normal post If it works, it is called medecine
If it doesn't, it is called homeopathy

This is a normal post Homeopathy isn't about the compound involved
but the level to which it is diluted which is supposed to increase its efficacy. If this were true, then just drink rainwater and all your illnesses will be cured, no need to give money to these cunts.

This is a normal post sorry, I ballsed up my post completely.
Homeopathy is the bullshit water one right? Like that duck liver that needs to be watered down to a level involving more molecules than are actually in the universe?

I actually meant herbal remedies, st johns is a proven herbal remedy isnt it? I've never used it so have no experience of it, but thought that one was OK?

This is a normal post The active ingredient in St Johns Wort is well known
In fact, the only issue is that it can be too active in naturally prepared treatments, as there is less control of concentration.

I hope by "doctor" you mean "quack lunatic" rather than actual genuine GMC-certified doctor. A real doctor prescribing homeopathy in place of actual medicine is not only committing malpractice but something close to manslaughter (in my righteously indignant opinion).

I'm shocked and very much saddened to hear about your sister.

And sorry about your sister. Hopefully she's happily watching re-runs of Captain Bucky O'Hare somewhere.
