This is a normal post Typical Guardian passive-aggressiveness.
I think his 'bans' are pretty reasonable.

This is a normal post you wouldn't want coloureds living in a house you owned either?

This is a normal post wouldnt you just say 'no curries' - just as he's said 'no smoking' and 'no pets' -
rather than 'no coloureds'.

This is a normal post Can't he just ban curry?
I mean... you can ban pets, but not pet owners, and you can ban smoking, but not smokers, so ban curry but not curry makers.

Surely this isn't even an issue.

This is a normal post That would be racist by default.
Asian people eat curry morning, noon and night. This would be like saying they can live there, but they have to starve to death.

This is a normal post It might be racist.
But it wouldn't be legally racist.

This is a normal post well even broader than that is...
some of the deposit can be used to bring the property up to the same standard it was at the beginning of the tenancy, the deposit scheme is there to protect both the landlord and the tenants. whether it's curry, cat piss or actual damage doesn't really matter

This is a normal post "Some"?
It's been a few years since I rented admittedly, but my deposit was about a grand. You'd be lucky to redecorate and re-carpet a flat for that.
