I can see how his act would irk a lot of people
There's an aura of smugness to it. But I always took that as part of his stage persona. Almost like an impotent bitterness.
Though he does look like a bit of a twat on those trendy thick-rims.

me too, I think he's excellent.
Comedy, like music, politics, art & pretty much anything discussed on here is massively subjective. I don't understand the vitriol aimed at Lee. Unlike cats who are, universally, cunts.

Stewart Lee's entire routine always smacks of jealousy of other comedians who he deems to not be as funny as he is which in itself sounds like something from one of his own routines which in itself isn't fucking funny.

I saw him do this routine and he fell over in the middle of the run, which I always assumed was part of the act.
I met him after the show too, thoroughly nice bloke he is too :)
