This is a link post The price for keeping Merkel in power is a United States of Europe by 2025.
Expulsion for those that don't agree.
If as net contributors to the eu project we're having a hard time leaving that means a lot of countries that are in dept to the project will be forced to stay and give up the last illusion of sovereignty.

Not certain by any means, Merkel may instead go to the polls again and seek a new mandate but that's not likely.

Sorry, I really tried to not get involved in another eu debate today but this one is too juicy to pass up.

This is a normal post Ah it's that sneaky thing about working via google news but if you share the link it stops working.
www.google.co.uk/search?q=Martin+Schulz+spd+2025&source=lnms&tbm=nws&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjns-i-nPjXAhWnDMAKHRTDAS4Q_AUICigB&biw=1211&bih=815

The links from this should work.

If not the indy link looks ok

No thanks. Let's hope they learn the lessons of other blocs around the world.

Speaking of which, I wonder how Putin will react if former soviet republics and allied states join the USE? I expect he will respect everone's wishes and send chocolates.

This is a normal post "We need a European finance minister
who curbs the race to the bottom in tax policy and ends the insufferable avoidance of tax. We need a European framework for a minimum wage that ends wage dumping."

Sounds awful.

This is a normal post In order for this to happen eu countries will have to give up all illusion that they are independent.
All issues of national sovereignty aside.
Lets say this happens.

Do you set it so a worker in Poland or Greece can get a fair living wage or set it so a worker in Germany or France can just about get by but Poland or Greece can no longer afford to hire staff?
(, Thu 7 Dec 2017, 16:41, Reply)
This is a normal post I don't see any of it happening.
Unless other countries agree, I assume all he can get is the idea mooted? (Happy to be told otherwise - genuinely don't know how such things work.)

This is a normal post In an a perfect world power would be fairly distributed and consensus would be needed.
In reality because Germany makes the greatest financial contribute and has the largest population as a nation the hold a lot of power. You'll see it was Merkel that did all the negotiations with Greece in 2015 debt crisis and arranged the dirty deal with Turkey on sending back migrants.

Add to the mix a highly europhile Macron and what they want will pretty much happen.

And if it doesn't happen now it will do at some point as that is the end goal for the eu.

This is a normal post So how'd that work then?
How's a president get chosen without pissing of the least populous countries?

How are they going to set a single minimum wage for a whole range of nations that have different cost of living and stages of economic development?

When is eurotrash going to be back on telly?
