This is a normal post I would imagine
that not many bikes hit lightning.

This is a normal post Is there even one still flying?
And realistically, only taxing, takeoff and landings present a danger to the somewhat lost cyclist.

These are police reported injuries/deaths. Given that most cyclists that ride into people (and I've seen this twice this week outside my office with deliveroo riders running red lights into people) just ride off after smashing into a pedestrian, what are you meant to report?

If cyclists are ace and no danger to anyone (which I'm sure the vast majority are ...just not the central London bike couriers), what's the problem with having a token licence (£1 a year), cycling proficiency pass and a number plate or you're not allowed on the road?

This is a normal post You can use stats to prove anything
edit: meh, it's not worth it

This is a normal post Does cycling proficiency still call for bikes to come to a standstill before pulling out around a parked car?
It was in my cycling proficiency (1979ish) but I've never seen a cyclist do that

They updated it a teensy bit something along the lines of "Give yourself more than a doors width clearance after checking that you are clear to pass".

That's from my 80s recollection though, so god knows if that's still the case.

This is a normal post I watched a YouTuber who records his journey
And that is what he said was the case. The vids were 2017 so it looks like it's the case. Not always possible of course

This is a normal post Of course not
data is the plural of anecdote.

This is a normal post The problem is cars, even the Tories are beginning to realise that now
So when you discourage cycling you put more people into alternatives that already kill thousands a year

This is a normal post I wonder what the map would look like
if it only showed cyclists who died undertaking a lorry at a junction?

Apparently it is one of the major causes of cycling deaths.

I am willing to bet even showing all cyclist deaths caused by another vehicle would not make a map with many features.

If the map was fairly empty that would mean there is not a problem of cyclist deaths, right?

Or is that map meaningless?

I suspect the latter.

This is a normal post I wonder what the map would looked like if the author had bothered to research even the basics
of cartography or data visualisation. Certainly not a mass of dots all on top of each other with absolutely no reference to the base geography. All that image does is show you where the major urban centres are and some highlights of the road network, it does absolutely nothing to explain the underlying data.

This is a normal post I think
each yellow dot is where someone got injured, each red dot indicates a death.

Although I could be wrong.
