This is a question Addicted

Cigarettes, gambling, porn and booze. What's your addiction? How low have you sunk and how have you tried to beat it?

Thanks to big-girl's-blouse for the suggestion

Hmm...does Football Manager count?
I had a press conference in my head on the train this morning explaining how I wasn't bothered that I'd been knocked out of the Scottish League Cup 3-1 to Hibs, because I'd dry humped them 5-0 in the league the previous Saturday.

I believe my quote was "it's more important to get the 3 points on the board, and I'm happy to use the League Cup to experiment with my line-up and give much needed match practice to my fringe first-teamers".

And it's true ye know.

Less than a fortnight ago I moved to the other side of the world for work, it's my birthday this weekend, I haven't really explored my new city yet, and all I want to do is have a mammoth FM08 session this weekend.

Speakng of FM08, I have FM09 simply because it's out, not because I have any compulsion to play it. I'm still too involved in my FM08 save game. Well, I have just upgraded to Excellent Youth Facilities after all.

(For those not in the know it's a PC game, football management simulator, for those stateside I believe it's called Worldwide Soccer Manager)

I often
stage meetings of my generals in Medieval Total War in my head, explaining their decisions in battles, reasons for joining crusades ect..... my favourite ever was while trying to sleep, I thought about a crusade battle I was annihilated in, I lay there inventing the tale of a lone survivor, struggling back to scotland to tell the king of the heroic death of his son at the hands of the mongols after they sunk our ships and cut us off.

Any ladies who find themselves uncontrollably aroused, form a queue and take a number.

I used to visualise the matches back in the day. I put Colwyn Bay in the third division in (what was) CM 97/98. Signing players such as Pierluigi Casiraghi, Barthez & Cafu, I used to imagine them turning out at Llanelian Road, then being in the clubhouse after.

Ironically, 10 years later, Cafu HAS now signed for a team in our league (Garnforth Town). He says he's playing a few games at the end of April, I will be heading over there to see him play :)

You think that's bad?
I've spent plenty of the time in the company of the soulless and the lonely, but the pinnacle of the FM addict's art must surely be this:

I'm an fm addict
Also away from home on the other side of the world, although I'm due home next year. For the past 5 months I've had fm on nearly every day. Mainly as I'm trying to save cashola but also cause my laptop is extremely slow.

The above poster's link is terrible! I skimmed it but I'm sure would be quite funny. The depth some people go too doesn't suprise me anymore.

I read somewhere....
...that football manager games have been cited around 34 times in divorce cases since the series began.

I myself lost 6 months to it while at uni, the only thing that saved me was my PC blowing up - it forced me to socialise!
