Paranoid? Much???
After a week of reading the various responses to this QOTW, I'm surprised anyone actually posts here.
Is anyone else reading this and wondering how annoying their own speech or writing is to others?
So many times I've read posts, thinking "oh, I would have said it that way", or "oops, that's something I say quite a bit".

I'd be concerned if I'm the only one whose (am I one of those 'fucktards' who can't distinguish 'who's' and 'whose' now?) had this thought, but hey, I have no internet reputation to uphold so I couldn't care less (yes. Couldn't)

Seriously, are the majority of you guys really apoplectic at this stuff or is this b3ta hyperbole and I'm really missing the point?
I can appreciate minor annoyance at obviously mis-spelled public signs and apostrophecatastrophe hell, and general pretentious wanker use of language, but on discussion boards, I'm less concerned about slip-ups with spelling (unless it is of the eleventyone persuasion). Many people haven't studied language structure and syntaxy things in great detail. It was barely covered at my school, despite me having a nerdy interest in English language.

I've followed most of the qotw so far, even the uncomfortable ones, but this one just leaves me a little . . . wired. Ooooh, angst
Whatever one writes is bound to annoy. Am wondering if lurker:poster ratio is affected by this qotw.

Suppose its just the mirror being held up

(ninja edit for stray comma)

Fucktard
Just answering your question, and I apologise if you were being ironic.

Also, if you make a ninja-edit, then obviously this reply will look silly.

no I'll leave it
I'd SO much rather continue to make myself look silly than you.

Semi irony, semi can't actually remember the difference. I guess at least I know it COULD be wrong and acknowledge that, just lacking the will to look it up.

you get to the point
where it just becomes easier to read the front page every thursday. The answers can be a bit like TKMaxx, 99% shit but there is definitely 1% gold in there somewhere.

usually do the 'best of' page
when busy, just had a bit more spare time this week. Spreading out the chuckles over the week was the idea, maybe I'm just picking up everyone's grrr's

Introspection?
From b3ta folk?

Git tae fuck.

I'm more of a lurker
so I guess I don't count as proper b3tafolk.

Can't you tell? I'm totally getting mileage out of people actually replying on one of my posts (is insertion of 'totally' in that part of the sentence something that pisses people off? Too merkin? SEE WHAT THIS QOTW IS DOING TO ME?)
Let me enjoy this moment of 'glory', please.

(Was expecting more flamery to be honest. You lot must be worn out. Or asleep?)

Yes.
You are on The List.

You have been warned. Prepare.

the fucktard is preparing
Lol

I agree!
I think the QOTW has turned into a bitching session this week. Everyone, including me, has some pet hate with the way people speak. Some have been surprising and some not so.

Some also I have recognised in the way I speak and write, especially the phrases I know I use time and again and hate myself every time I utter them. Doubt if it'll make me stop though.
