I suggested that we playAbsinthe poker. Everyone agreed. Obvious results followed in the morning by the unusual use of an umbrella, a throat infection caused by retching too much, the worst hangover in my entire life, a couple of my mates being left/stranded in Guernsey and having to endure a Channel ferry crossing.

I am always suspicious of stories involving extreme drunkenness and international travel.Do they let you on the ship/plane/whatever in that state?

FrequentlyBoats are slightly more lax on the issue and don't forget we were rabidly hungover not really pissed anymore. I certainly wouldn't recommend it, Guernsey or the absinthe poker that is! It took us best part of a day and a private plane hire to retrieve our mates stranded there. I still have photos but they ain't ever going near the Internet!
