This is a question Driven to Madness

Captain Placid asks: What annoying things do significant others, workmates and other people in general do that drive you up the wall? Do you want to kill your other half over their obsessive fridge magnet collection? Driven to distraction over your manager's continued use of Comic Sans (The Font of Champions)? Tell us.

Stephen Fry
Julie Burchill got it spot on with "a stupid person's idea of what an intelligent person is like".

By association, therefore, Apple devices of any sort are also deeply annoying.

I got his autobiog from a charity shop
He is an utter cunt.

Julie Burchill is not the brightest spark, though.
She's no Piers Morgan. Except in the obvious ways.

he's great.
When he's not being 'Stephen fry'.

The only time I've ever found him funny
was when he did Planet Word with Brian Blessed.

And I was probably laughing at the Blessmeister tbh.

I suppose she would know

Julie Birchill
is not someone that I would consider to have a relevant or intelligent opinion.
(, Fri 5 Oct 2012, 19:54, closed)
She's great at disagreeing with things though.

Well I don't mind admitting that I think Stephen Fry is Ace!
As for Julie Burchill I enjoyed her quip about about middle class Guardianista types "not knowing a good time if it stuck it's tongue down their throat in a night club in Aiya Napa" - That was funny.

Who was it on here who did the excellent Julie Burchill 'Choose Your Own Opinion' Image Challenge entry.

^What she said^

Stephen Fry: Acheived good enough marks on entrance exam for scholarship to cambridge where he graduated in literature. Speaks german, some latin.
Julie Burchill: failed to complete A-levels
(, Sat 6 Oct 2012, 16:10, closed)
And on the other hand
Albert Einstein: indifferent school performance
George Osborne: Got into Oxford
(, Sat 6 Oct 2012, 20:04, closed)
But George Osborne has enough breeding and pre-paid excellence to avoid being accountable for his own incompetence.
