I know exactly what you mean,
as soon as a new model comes out, the old one immediately looks horribly dated to me.

But there comes a point at which that stops. I quite like a lot of older cars, classics are obvious but some more recent stuff - I am planning on buying a toy at some point, and things like the Nissan 300zx aren't totally out of the question. Also that mad Australian V8 vauxhall thing, that's only about 7 years out of production, but I'd definitely consider one of those.

Ah yes the one based on the Holden.
An ex work colleague who drove a 1.2 Corsa over in the UK became an Australian Copper who now drives a V8 Holden as a patrol car. He says there's not a lot who can outrun it.

Honda CRX........
...........would be my choice of toy. The two seater VTI with removeable roof. I had one years ago & loved it. Rock solid engine, and being a distant relative of the Accord, would naturally be able to hold massive amounts of "golf clubs".

If you are making sheds of cash toilet trading then you should be able to get something
a lot better than a Nissan 300ZX, the boys making turbines on CNC machines for Rolls Royce engines run better cars than a Nissan 300ZX. Are you loaded or not? Don't come babbling about £30K a year being mean and not be able to afford a bloody Nissan or the Vauxhall Monaro, which new was £28,000.
