How you get there = tedium
I once borrowed a book on Chaos Theory and fractals from my father. Half a chapter in, I skipped to the trippy fractal pictures in the middle and gave it back. Fucking hell, 'page-turner' it was not. More of a 'turd de force'.

I wish Tina Turner's middle name was 'page', and she had a penchant* for those "Tiny little book of [emotion]" books you get at the till in Waterstones.
