I want to read Atomised now.
No way am I doing it though. This feeling is horrendous. I'm melodramatic at the best of times but this sense of dread is awful.

Atomised is wonderful.
Houellebecq is a bit like Amis, a definite streak of cold, callous cruelty running through things.

Isn't it a Big Black album?
Speaking of which, have you seen that Shellac are curating the Xmas ATP this year?
That is going to be incredible.

It has nothing to do with Albini.
The original French novel is called 'The Elementary Particles' (but en francais).

Burial scares the shit out of me as well.
His stuff is amazing. But it just makes me feel uneasy. That's the sign of someone doing something great but oh my, I feel angsty enough as it is.
On another note Blackbird Blackbird's new track is beautiful: soundcloud.com/blackbirdblackbirdsf/happy-with-you-original-mix

Burial is like that.
His stuff is so emotional and sad. It sounds like memories.

It's making me uneasy even thinking about his stuff.

I love how you're never quite sure what you've just heard.
Resident Evil ammo collection samples for beats, timestretched and pitch bent vocals so that you can't tell the gender...I read a great interview with him, where he was talking about how what he does is mourning the rave and jungle eras, even though he was too young to directly take part.

It's layers of memories, like the layers of narrative in Heart of Darkness. I'll see if I can find that interview and gaz you it, it's fascinating to read.

EDIT:

Just found the innerview:

Also, he made his first two albums on Fruity Loops, which is a shit, Fisher Price style music program.
