The Spanish had it in 1760 something.
By the time we settled them in 1833, they had been empty for years. The Argentinians have never had people living there. When we settled them, Argentina wasn't even a country yet.

If you look at that graph
it shows that there's a period of non-ownership between Argentina and the UK's possession. Although it's true that I was incorrect in stating Argentina wasn't a country at the time.
