yeah that's pretty common.
Timecoded vinyl. I have no beef with CDJs either; the method of mixing is still the same and they give you way more creativity. Far cheaper as well, even if a pioneer is a grand apiece, a downloaded track is what, a quid? 12s used to be 6 to 8 quid back in the day, the savings are huge.

it's been available for the past ten years or so.
Stanton did 'Final Scratch', these days it's Serato. Absolutely no issues with it, it's not like just using the sync button like David Guetta and his nonce EDM mates do.

And just about everybody has moved to CDs now.
