When I had a proper jobI rang a bloke in a chemical factory to discuss an ongoing claim.
He put me on hold for a minute to "sort out a problem". When he didn't come back after a while I hung up. Turned out that the problem had exploded and killed him.
I don't suppose that call centre workers are exposed to this sort of risk.
