Yeah but lots of people are thick and cunts
I don't imagine my useless cleaner could run a complex fraud trial

You're right Nakers, we should put more effort into educating people properly.
I agree with your suggestion of higher taxation to fund this.
(, Mon 13 Oct 2014, 9:12, Reply)
nah, many people can only be educated up to a certain level, after that it just gets scrambled in their brain

(, Mon 13 Oct 2014, 10:16, Reply)
How much did it cost your parents to find that out?

(, Mon 13 Oct 2014, 10:16, Reply)
not much, I was a scholarship student

Hahahahahahaha

Even if this wasn't hilariously untrue, I'm not convinced that a 10% reduction on the 11 grand a term fees would count as "not much"

(, Mon 13 Oct 2014, 10:35, Reply)
OK fine, I didn't get a scholarship, BUT was in the scholars set
also the fees were only about £20k/yr when I was there
(, Mon 13 Oct 2014, 10:42, Reply)
What a waste
Still, that's practically small change innit
(, Mon 13 Oct 2014, 10:44, Reply)
not at all, I am a successful and well adjusted young man

(, Mon 13 Oct 2014, 10:46, Reply)
oh yeah, because every kid works really hard and appreciates the education they get given already

(, Mon 13 Oct 2014, 10:40, Reply)
Good point, might not succeed so don't bother trying.

(, Mon 13 Oct 2014, 10:41, Reply)
exactly
i mean, kids like my cousin, who's been given a free education in a good school, and who still managed to leave it with a clutch of U's and N's, and is now studying A-levels in photography and media studies... was up smoking and posting on facebook at 3am most nights during her exam period.... yeah, let's chuck more money at kids like that eh, they appreciate it so much. i even bribed her with £50 an A, £40 a B and £20 a C, and she didn't manage to win a lousy purple note.

You always bring up an isolated example, usually from your pikey family, as to why increased funding in education might be a waste of time.
It might work that way in law, where one example of precedent is sufficient, but it's not very scientific.
(, Mon 13 Oct 2014, 10:57, Reply)
Also, for what it's worth, research shows that the most beneficial way to spend on education is to pour it into early years.
Your teenage cousin was already a lost cause by the time you tried to bribe it.

she was top of the class then
she got badly bullied by kids who weren't as bright and thought working was for "gays"
(, Mon 13 Oct 2014, 11:03, Reply)
Those kids know everything!

(, Mon 13 Oct 2014, 11:10, Reply)
no, tangles knows everything!
can't you keep up?
(, Mon 13 Oct 2014, 11:12, Reply)
I'm struggling to see how you have made this assumption based on what I said.

(, Mon 13 Oct 2014, 11:16, Reply)
did you wake up on the left side of your bed today?

(, Mon 13 Oct 2014, 10:45, Reply)
My bed has no right hand side.
