This is a question School Projects

MostlySunny wibbles, "When I was 11 I got an A for my study of shark nets - mostly because I handed it in cut out in the shape of a shark."

Do people do projects that don't involve google-cut-paste any more? What fine tat have you glued together for teacher?

Reading this I feel old
Did all of you leave school last week?

When I was a lad t'internet was the stuff of a madman's dreams and a mobile phone would have had you hung as a witch!

They really are all children, here.

I identify
Computers came into mainstream school the year before I was leaving.
Only the science geeks got to play with them.
They were the size of telephone exchanges too.

when I was at school
the Science class took a trip to Stonehenge.

When I was at school
we BUILT Stonehenge

I remember when Stonehenge was a madman's dream
And suggesting moving stones on rolling logs would have had you hanged as a witch.

When I was young,
suggesting the CONCEPT of school would have led to being disembowelled. We didn't have fire you see. Or rope.

Disembowelled?
Luxury.

We just took them out into the badlands and left them to die. Didn't have things like "tools" or "cutting edges".

STONEhenge?
You were lucky. When I was at school, we had to make do with woodhenges, and be glad of it.

I used to live down the road from Woodhenge
The wooden posts has long since rotted away, and had been replaced by concrete ones.

We also had a free family pass into Stonehenge, as did all residents within a certain distance - I think we were about two miles away. It was a nice walk over there, through a field with a gert massive bull in it.

I still don't understand the whole 'year x' thing...
Basically, in secondary school I was in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th years...then I escaped :)
(, Fri 14 Aug 2009, 12:19, closed)
I understand it in primary
which is lucky as I am a primary school teacher.

But I get lost in secondary school.
I know that year 1 = year 7, but they still have 6th form and upper 6th!
