Today already: St Etienne, Sugarcubes, Stereolab, Patti Smith. Plus the ones I've already forgotten about. Oh, and The Sundays and Polly Harvey. And that's just the girl singers. Help!

After all these years, I've persuaded my dad to accept The Smiths. And he's persuaded me to accept The Shadows.

(Although, strictly speaking, I prefer The Spotnicks and think he should be enjoying My Bloody Valentine. But hey ho. Baby steps.)
