It was suspectedthat the V1 rocket programme was actually a cover for the 'Rakete Warenkorb des Volkes' project, a device to speed up transport of light goods around large shops and warehouses, thus increasing efficiency of society by up to 5%. There is, however, very little evidence of this beyond second-hand testimony from captured Nazi rocket scientists. Any paperwork and prototypes would have been seized by the Russians in 1945.
