Not as silly as it sounds.I've had the disc come off the spindle on my notebook before now (must have taken a bit of a knock while carrying it.) When I opened the drive, it looked empty because the disc stayed inside. I very nearly put a second disc in there and shut the drive, but I noticed the edge of the first disc sticking out very slightly.
