Zaphlegidae ('The Fiery-Tempered Ones') is a family of extinct, snake mackerel-like, or escolar-like fish whose fossils are found from Late Miocene strata of Southern California.I hope that clears things up.

however...Lithology once was approximately synonymous with petrography, but in current usage, lithology is a subdivision of petrology focusing on macroscopic hand-sample or outcrop-scale description of rocks, while petrography is the speciality that deals with microscopic details.
