# So exactly what are the trespass laws concerning derelict buildings?
(, Sun 5 Dec 2010, 21:06, archived)
# derelict does not mean ownerless
of course, the owner might be hoping that it spontaneously combusts for no apparent reason and not in any way related to any impending planning application or anything, lol, as if that'd happen :D

# essentially if you haven't "forced" entry or stolen or damaged anything
and you have a plausible reason for being there (i.e. camera equipment) then all that security can do is escort you off the premises :)

I got nabbed in High Royds once and the security actually called the police and the coppers told them as long as I was willing to leave without any trouble (which I was) then they weren't interested...

# "I got nabbed in High Royds once"
I hope they didn't damage you must have been painful.

# aye, as long as you don't take the piss if the cops show up, "inconvenience" generally doesn't occur.
