# Saw him at the Kentish Town Forum, back in the early 90's.
We'd jumped into The Bull and Gate for a couple of cheeky pints, beforehand, and wondered who the vaguely familiar, dishevelled dude playing pool was.
Standing next to him at the bar it soon clicked who he actually was. Our thoughts on the night ahead were ones of 'This is gonna suck. He's utterly wasted.'
He could hardly stand when he came on stage, but once he started, all memories of the man in the pub went out of the window.

A genuine star.
A sad loss.
