I think one of my happiest tv watching times of recent years was going back and viewing Daria again and noticing that in the end credits where they do the weird drawings of the characters: there was one of them as a old fat lady in a child's play pen with a thought bubble witha chicken in it.
That gladdened me that people were putting in those sort of references into a young person's cartoon :)
