The AKIRA live-action remake's been called off now.They've openly admitted they wouldn't be able to reproduce the feel of the original; they've released photos of their version of Kaneda's bike, along with the admission that it looks a bit...well...shit. Plus the idea of shifting the action to New York and filling the cast with white actors was about on a par with doing a Hamlet with Jean-Claude van Damme.
