I suppose that's something
mine just turned up, along with a load of eye floaters they tell me may take years to clear, happened after a fit of coughing I had from a chest infection, nobody seems to be able to tell me why but I got a new glasses prescription handed to me by Boots and ran out before they could try and sell me anything!

possibly ruptured blood vessels caused by coughing
i was born with twisted nerves in my face, which connected my left eye to my jaw, under the skin, fortunately. after 15 years of surgery, you can't tell there's anything wrong and the nerve damage has turned my eyes from blue to green, which is a bonus. however, the nerve degeneration has sped up in the last few years and i WILL go totally blind eventually.
