# I think this one was done on a cheapo lexmark which died
photoshop is what does the magic

# Ahh, I thought you'd done nothing to it XD My scanned stuff ends up looking a little hokey, even after PS treatment.

# scan in greyscale or colour and convert to greyscale if needed
though I can't imagine a mono/grey scanner these days unless it's some specialist thing

never use b/w | 1bit whatever :) for ink/pencil lest it look like something on macpaint in 1984 done while on crack

scan as high res as you can, then play with levels to decide what is black and what is white, you might need to jiggle the contrast around a little, and also be a bit careful when selecting areas so that it doesn't go ass as any edges will have gradients on them, things might be a bit more complicated for colour images but I only really draw in pencil and rarely ink, though I've not done anything in ages

Then when it's finalised shrink it to the needed size and all shall be yay

So even when your original is smudged to shit with pencil, and fingerprints and lard it'll still come out clean

Some experts may say I'm talking shit but it works for me, so fuck experts, in the face, with a stick, a knobbly stick with knobbles on it.

# Most of my scans are about 1000px wide, 72 dpi (which I know is just for printing, but whatevs).
Thanks for the tips, I'll be sure to take heed next time I've got shit to scan, which, if I can get all of this book project done tonight, will be very soon :D

# photoshop makes everyone look like they know what they are doing
I wonder how many folks would be completely fucked without it :D
