They've renamed it but I can't remember what to.Either way, lots of lovely wildlife in Tassie. Try and get to the west coast if you can, fuck the birds it's just wonderful to see 6 foot deep moss instead of grass. It's a whole other planet there.
Also there are probably a bunch of birds around Strathgordon worth looking at. Do yourself a favour and don't visit Queenstown, your heart will break as you crest the hill.

The scariest part about pretty much every Australian town/city outside of Sydney/Melbourneis that telling them you're from somewhere else gets a response of "What's wrong with (this town)?" and you won't be able to explain that you just happened to be born somewhere else.
