I think there was a film called 'Mars Needs Moms' that came out sometime last year, which was banking on its 3D effect. It became the fifth worst commercial failure in cinema history.
I can see the 3D fad dying out soon, there's no point to it, other than to give you a bit of a headache afterwards.
